Field Marshal Asim Munir noted that challenges such as rising geopolitical tensions, cross-border terrorism and hybrid warfare have further complicated the security environment.
However, despite terrorism and externally supported information warfare, Pakistan’s armed forces and intelligence agencies continue to demonstrate unwavering resolve, professional excellence and steadfastness in safeguarding national security, the army chief said.
The NSW-27 training program brings together Members of Parliament, senior civil and military officials, academics and civil society representatives on a single platform to raise awareness on national security issues.
The participants in the event held at the General Headquarters also held a special session with the head of the army. They were briefed on Pakistan’s internal and regional security environment as well as measures being taken against illegal activities in the country.
These include crackdowns on smuggling, drug trafficking and organized crime networks. Updates on improved border management and illegal alien repatriation efforts were also shared.
