Coas Munir and China FM discuss security


The head of the Army staff (COAS), Syed also met, met with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Islamabad, on Friday morning, with regional secret and anti -terrorism on the agenda, according to a statement published by the military media wing.

FM Wang Yi is in Islamabad on an official visit to attend the sixth strategic dialogue of Pakistan-Chin on Thursday. The dialogue concluded with the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar and FM Wang Yi, placing the bases on issues such as the Chinese-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0 and reaffirming the commitment to strong bilateral ties.

The Chinese FM also met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari.

“I reiterated the Pakistna resolution firm to further strengthen our strategic cooperative association for all climate and underline the central role of CPEC to boost our socio -economic progress and improve regional connectivity,” wrote Prime Minister Shehbaz in X (previously Twitter) after their meeting.

Public relations between services (ISPR) published a statement on the meeting of Munir Coas with the Chinese FM. “Both parties reaffirmed their resolution to strengthen the strategic association and improve coordination in regional and international forums.”

The two parties participated in the dialogue focused on the regional secretary, anti -terrorism and matters of mutual interest.

The meeting ended with Wang Yi reiterating “China’s firm support for the sovereignty and development of Pakistan.”

Coas Munir and FM Wang Yi separated establishing “a shared commitment to advance in peace, stability and prosperity in the region.”

Last month, Coas Munir was in Beijing, where Chinese leadership praised the role of Pakistan’s army to guarantee peace in the region. They declared a “cornerstone of resilience” to Pakistan and a vital taxpayer to stability in the region.
