Freshly crowned France open Champion Coco Gound said she was surprised by the comments that opponent Aryna Sabalenka did after the female final, citing her poor performance for the victory of the American.

“I think I was over -emotional,” Sabalenka said after the game. “I really didn’t drive quite well mentally, I would say.
Reacting those comments during an appearance in “Good Morning America”, Goorf explained that both players had to fight difficult conditions during the final. She said she was “surprised” by Sabalenka’s comments, but knew that the game was emotional for her opponent.
“Obviously, I know that I was probably a bit excited after that game, and it was a difficult loss. But, honestly, when I stepped on the court, I was aware of the wind. We both practiced with the closed roof … but when I discovered that I was open and I saw how windy it was on the court, I knew it was going to be a ugly victory.

“I was a little surprised by the comments and everything, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I am sure it was an emotional and emotional day.”
Sabalenka issued a statement in response to criticism about his comments.
“Yesterday was difficult. Coco handled the conditions much better than me and she deserved victory,” said her publication on social networks. “She was the best player yesterday, and I want to give her the credit she won.”
