Indianapolis Colts co-owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon caught fans’ attention this season while on the sideline wearing headphones as the team started 2025 strong.
Irsay-Gordon is the daughter of Jim Irsay, who died earlier this year.
His presence on the bench has been felt in previous years, but the team’s 7-1 start has renewed focus on Irsay-Gordon and his involvement in the organization.

He also earned praise from former NFL MVP Cam Newton.
“She’s a great stepper now! … She’s making her presence felt and that’s leading to wins,” the former Carolina Panthers star said on the “4th and 1” podcast. “We’ve never seen a team have this kind of streak, like you said, in the last 25 years.
“She’s doing something right, and it’s extremely praiseworthy. It draws attention and the thought process here. Do we need more women in sports? Because what they offer is something that most men would overlook.

NFL STAR Jokingly claims his white teammate is being racially profiled by referees amid series of sanctions.
“Some say women are more organized, more detail-oriented, more intelligent. Not many times do head coaches want top management involvement. Why? Because they may feel like they’re being micromanaged. But at the same time, if I pay you, you can’t tell me how I should run my team.”
Irsay-Gordon explained in June why she seemed to be so involved with the team.
“I need to be able to say, ‘Is this person full of nonsense? Does he even know what he’s talking about?'” he said. “I think one of the things that being on the headset has really helped me learn is, to the previous question, that it’s such a complex organism, a football team and how it operates… You could say, ‘Oh, that person took that route wrong.’ When you learn, ‘Oh, someone touched the wrong receiver and it wasn’t really the player’s fault.’ It was the person who called it.

“That’s been very valuable because it also helps us know where we need to make adjustments? What resources do we need? What do we need to fix? A lot of it comes down to how we operate and how things work and the headset… I would suggest it to anyone who has to pay coaches and general managers millions and millions of dollars. It helps you make a potentially less costly mistake.”
