Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen had the opportunity Monday to respond to criticism from former punter Pat McAfee after a loss to the New York Giants.

“I think with any team, not everyone is always going to be on time, but there is responsibility and the guys have to meet a standard and that is talked about internally,” Steichen said, via The Athletic. “And I don’t believe that. And when the standard is not making the playoffs, it’s frustrating.
“So it’s frustrating for a lot of people, including myself. And that’s where we talk about raising the bar to not be in these situations.”
Steichen was brought into the organization to take the Colts to the next level after having success with the Philadelphia Eagles as offensive coordinator.
