Columbia Sportswear is back with a new Star Wars collaboration, and this year the brand has turned its attention from the Sith Lords to the forests of Endor for its annual release. The aptly named Endor Collection is Columbia’s largest Star Wars release yet: a 20-piece line that recreates the look and feel of the Rebel Alliance’s mission in Return of the Jedi while still functioning as everyday outdoor clothing.
Unlike previous collaborations, this collection is entirely environmentally based. The dense forest of Endor, not unlike the Pacific Northwest terrain that Columbia regularly designs, sets the theme. The pieces, including a standout poncho that will make you feel at home in Galaxy’s Edge, are instantly recognizable to Star Wars fans while still being practical for everyday wear.
Since most previous Columbia X Star Wars collections, including last year’s Darth Vader line, sold out in minutes, timing is important. The Endor Collection launches on December 11, 2025 at 6:30am PST / 9:30am ET / 2:30pm BST for Columbia Greater Rewards members, followed by general availability at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm BST. Membership is free and, like Lego Insiders, it’s one of the best ways to improve your chances of getting a piece before it’s gone.
To unpack the collection, TechRadar spoke with Erin Steele, director of special projects at Columbia. Steele shared that one of the biggest technical challenges was developing the poncho. “We wanted to make sure they were authentic to the original costume, but also truly functional,” he said, noting the adjustable belts, adjustable sleeves, zippered hand pockets and the difficulty of recreating Endor’s hand-painted camouflage pattern.
“We worked carefully to make sure our versions captured that same imperfect, authentic look. Finally, we took advantage of our waterproof and breathable Omni-Tech fabric so you’re truly ready for real-world adventures.”
Disney Parks fans may notice that the poncho resembles the rain gear worn by cast members on Batuu—a subtle touch that makes the design feel at home in both canon and the parks.
Some of Columbia’s core technologies also received Star Wars-specific adaptations. “Our Interchange system was perfect for General Han Solo’s trench. It gave us the ability to offer fans both Han’s incredible trench coat and signature vest in one incredible piece,” said Steele. “The interior of the vest also features Columbia’s award-winning Omni-Heat Infinity technology, which we adapted this year to feature Rebel logos throughout the thermo-reflective pattern.”
The same lining appears on the Endor Issue Cargo Vest, continuing the tradition of custom, unique Omni-Heat patterns for each annual collaboration.
Footwear receives similar treatment. “The Endor Issue boot also features incredible innovation: our advanced Omni-Max cushioning, a TechLite midsole and an Omni-Grip outsole, creating a truly functional trail-ready boot,” Steele said.
The range extends beyond outerwear and offers vests, shirts, hats and accessories such as a cargo backpack and a quilted blanket. A full line of Ewok-inspired fleece for kids, including toddler and baby sizes, uses high-pile fleece and touches of concept art to create something fun without crossing into costume territory. It’s easily one of the most charming parts of the collection, and many adults will likely want their own carving.
As usual, Columbia withheld a variety of narrative details along the line. Steele’s favorites include “the inclusion of original concept art on the blanket, Ewok wool patch, and Bright Tree Village t-shirt, along with the actual map of the filming location that appears inside the shoe box and on the back of one of our long-sleeve t-shirts.” He added: “We put a lot of care into every little element of our Star Wars collections… It’s almost like owning a real piece of Star Wars history.”
Columbia’s Star Wars collaborations, now in their tenth year, have become an annual tradition. Last year’s Vader line focused on interpreting a single character’s aesthetic into functional clothing; This year’s focus is broader, translating an entire environment and its supporting designs into equipment intended for real-world use.
That evolution reflects the brand’s deepening creative relationship with Lucasfilm. “We love incorporating our best performance technologies into every Star Wars collection so fans get pieces that are truly functional, not just collectible,” Steele said.
“The team at Lucasfilm is a great partner in helping us deepen the storytelling of each collection. Each installment is different, and delving into the meat of the Star Wars story with their team is what allows us to create the best products possible.”
For 2025, the design team took inspiration from the broader rebel forces on Endor, incorporating “asymmetrical stitching, chains, cargo pockets, rank insignia, and custom hangtags,” Steele explained. The jackets also hide Aurebesh narrative patches for fans to translate.
The collaboration itself is a multi-year and deeply integrated process. “These collections have been years in the making and we are in constant communication from concept to launch,” Steele said. “After 10 collections together, we’ve built an incredible level of trust between the brands and we have a blast bringing these collections to life each year.”
The Columbia Sportswear Endor collection will officially launch tomorrow, December 11, 2025, at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm BST for everyone, but if you join the Greater Rewards membership, which is free, you can start 30 minutes early.
