Conan O’Brien Shares House Update Amid Los Angeles Fires

As wildfires rage through Los Angeles, Conan O’Brien says his house was saved after thinking, “our house is going to be gone.”

The 61-year-old recalled receiving a call from his wife Liza about seeing “some smoke” while he was meeting with writers for his Oscars hosting gig.

“I remember thinking, ‘Well, we’ve been through this before.’ We’ve been evacuated. There’s also been smoke and we haven’t been evacuated,” he shared. “It’s part of life in Los Angeles, so I didn’t think much about it.”

“And then I went from here to, whatever, we went to a hotel, and I went to sleep that night thinking… ‘I’m pretty sure our house is going to disappear,’ and it didn’t,” Conan recounted.

His longtime assistant, Sona Movsesian, who also lost her home in the fires, said: “It’s our entire street; our entire neighborhood has just been destroyed. It seems like it’s hard for me to look at pictures. It really seems almost apocalyptic.”

At least 27 people died in the wildfires, which have been called one of the most destructive in the history of Los Angeles County.
