He Minnesota twins He condemned a fatal shooting in a Church in Minnesota on Wednesday that left at least two dead children and another 17 injured, calling the attack, which occurred during a mass, “incomprehensible.”

“The Minnesota twins are disconsolled by the tragic and meaningless mass shooting today in the Church and the Annunciation School in southern Minneapolis. The taking of innocent lives in a place of learning and worship is incomprehensible,” said the statement.

“Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with the victims, their families and all those who have been affected. Together with our community, we cry this tragedy and yearn for a future in which such violence is no longer broken.
Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara said the gunman approached the church and began to “shoot a rifle through the church windows towards the children sitting in the banks in the Mass.”
“Shooting through the windows, he hit children and worshipers who were inside the building,” O’Hara said. “The shooter was armed with a rifle, a shotgun and a gun. This was a deliberate act of violence against innocent children and other people who worship. Pure cruelty and cowardice to shoot a church full of children is absolutely incomprehensible.”

Police confirmed that the gunman has probably died of a self -inflicted gunshot wound.

“We are devastated by the horrible violence that took place in the Annunciation Church in Minneapolis this morning. Our hearts are broken by the victims, their families and all those who have been affected by this insensitive and cowardly act. We are praying for the injured, those who witnessed the attack and the first responders who were in the scene that give care and support during this tragedy.”

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx also issued a joint statement.
“We are deeply bewildered by the tragic shooting that occurred this morning during a school mass in our community of Minneapolis. Our thoughts and the deepest sympathies are with the victims, their families, and all whose lives have changed forever for this act of non -meaningless violence. As members of this community, we are together in love. Minnesotans, we cry this tragic loss and extend the strength and compassion with all those affected.”
Several children injured in the shooting were being treated at the Hennepin County Medical Center. Tom Wyatt, president of the Department of Emergency Medicine of Hennepin Healthcare, confirmed that four of these patients required surgery.
