- A new update for the Philips Hue mobile application is now being implemented
- The application now suggests adding new sensors and switches to an area during the configuration process
- This avoids a problem in which lighting scenes are not available later.
If you have ever had problems configuring new sensors and switches for your Hue Philips lights, help is at hand. A new application update is now being implemented that it automatically suggests adding accessories to an area when it connects them for the first time, so that no feature is lost later.
An area is a set of lights and other accessories that you want to control together as a group. They do not necessarily have to be in the same place or include all the lights inside a room. For example, you may want to create an area specifically for the entertainment lighting of your home, or one that includes all lights in a particular floor.
Previously, assigning new devices to a room or area was an optional step within the Philips Hue application, which could be lost if you were in a hurry. If I did, you will not be able to use all the functions of the switch or the sensor later. For example, you may not see all available scenes (prepared lighting profiles).
The new update of the application was detected by the editor of Hueblog.com, who says that readers trapped in this frustrating ‘accessories’. From now on, the application will suggest creating at least one area during the configuration process so that it does not suffer that problem, and will observe that it can always hide areas in the future if you prefer.
Simpler configuration
There is also a change in the configuration process when you are installing a new Philips Hue security chamber. As Notebookck explains, the application now offers you the opportunity to configure the lighting controlled by the movement during the initial configuration process.
Both are relatively minor changes, and there is still no news about the next AI of Philips Hue AI. However, they address some common problems that you can face by extending your Philips Hue configuration and further improve smart lights.
