The debates about the short yardage of Philadelphia Eagles “Tush Push”, which is also known colloquially as the “Shove Fraternal”, revived after a game of week 2 in Kansas City.
The NFL sent a video to the chief coaches and general managers of each team this week. The video highlighted the violations prior to the SNAP. The Washington Post was the first to inform about the details of what the tape represented.
According to the report, it was determined that one of the “thrust” attempts of the Eagles during the 20-17 victory last Sunday over the Chiefs should have been marked.

Training tapes are not new. Weekly videos effectively serve as a tool to analyze the most recent list of NFL games.
The play under scrutiny of the game last week at the Arrowhead Stadium occurred in a third attempt in the last quarter. The Field Marshal of the Eagles, Jalen Hurts, finally became the third and 1 game with less than six remaining minutes in the game.

Fans and others who saw the last Eagles meeting with the Chiefs argued that the Eagles offensive guards moved before the Philadelphia center. These accusations were exacerbated by the suggestion that the center of the Águilas Caéron Jurgens initially aligned in the neutral zone, which would incur a penalty out of play.

The Vice President of Training and Development of the NFL, Ramon George, acknowledged that at least one Eagles liner committed a violation of the SNAP motion. The game officials did not penalize the Eagles in the play.
“Every time we have this situation, we are in short yards, we know that we want to make sure we will office these plays: the offensive team must be perfect in all aspects,” George said in the video, according to the post.

“We want to officiate it strongly. We want to be black and white and be as tight as we can be when we enter this situation in which the teams are in the position of the group and we have to officiate them in the early movement.
“Before the click, it seems that we have a movement for the right guard. We also have a movement that is from the defensive side. This is a very difficult play to officiate. I understand it.”
Fox Sports Rules Analyst Dean Blandino, expressed his frustration about the “thrust of Tush” and said he was “finished” with the game due to the level of difficulty associated with being able to officiate it in a consistent way.
Last year, the Green Bay Packers presented a proposal to prohibit the “push of Tush”. The play finally survived for at least the 2025 season after the NFL owners did not reach the required threshold of 24 votes to ban it.
ESPN reported that the “push of Tush” was used in just 0.28% of the total plays during the 2024 season.
