Core Scientific, Inc. (Corz), a digital infrastructure provider for high performance computing (HPC) and Bitcoin Miner, has announced the appointment of Jim Nygaard as its new financial director, as of March 17.
Nygaard, a veteran Finance Executive, brings extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and capital markets of their holdings in XMS Capital Partners and Morgan Stanley, according to a statement on Monday.
“The deep financial experience and strategic mentality of Jim will be fundamental as we continue to climb the operations and promote the value of the shareholders,” said CEO Adam Sullivan.
The outgoing financial director Denise Sterling, who led the company through her restructuring of Chapter 11 and obtained more than $ 1 billion in capital, will remain until May 1 to guarantee a transition without problems. The transition plan was previously announced on September 6.
This occurs after Core Scientific announced an expansion of $ 1.2 billion of its data centers with Coreweave.
The action has increased 2% in the negotiation prior to the market but more than 20% in the year in which it will be carried out.
