Court order on Imran’s meeting mocked again

Rawalpindi:

Attacking the Adial prison administration for refusing to allow Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) to meet with the founder of the Imran Khan party despite a court order, the leadership of the party accused the court officials to the court. They urged the Judiciary to maintain their credibility and dignity by guaranteeing the fulfillment of their failures.

In statements to the media outside the Adiala prison, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub Khan, condemned the administration of the prison for ignoring the law and the Constitution. He claimed that while the visitors met with convicted criminals, they were housed at the Visitors Center, PTI leaders were forced to wait outside.

Ayub stressed that paragraph 7 of the court order explicitly establishes that the prison superintendent must guarantee meetings with Imran Khan. “We wait four hours outside the Adiala prison, repeatedly notifying the administration, however, the Superintendent refused to let us enter the colonel of an intelligence agency at the request of an intelligence agency,” he said.

He criticized intelligence agencies for not addressing security concerns in Baluchistan while interfering with political matters. “His duty is to combat terrorism, however, people in Baluchistan cannot move freely due to security threats. This is a failure of intelligence,” said Ayub.

PTI leader Shibli Faraz also denounced the challenge of the administration of the prison, qualifying the court. “Not allowing us to meet Imran Khan is not just our insult; it is a direct violation of the order of the court,” he said.

Senator Allama Raja Abbas Nasir claimed that the country was deliberately pushed into agitation. “Denying someone their rights is an injustice. The whole system is based on oppression, but we will not give up or abandon our cause,” he promised.

The head of the Sunita Ittehad Council, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, sarcastically commented that the three largest bank judges should be “congratulated” for the respect shown to their ruling by the prison administration. “We will not let this problem be ruled out. It is alarming that the prison superintendent and a colonel have more power than the Judiciary,” he said.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the founder of PTI, Niaz Ullah Niazi, condemned the actions of the prison administration, calling them a serious challenge to the judicial authority. “When challenging the order of the Court, they have raised an important questioning sign on the credibility of the Judiciary. We will present a contempt of the Court’s request,” he announced, added that Imran Khan remains an essential figure for the future of Pakistan.
