LAHORE:
An Electoral Court has dismissed the electoral requests presented by PTI Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and his wife Qaisara Elahi against an ECP notification with respect to the victory of his nephew in the elections in a constituency of the Punjab Assembly.
The ECP had declared Chaudhry Salik Hussain the winning candidate in the PP-32 constituency in Gujrat. Elahi, whose wife is Chuadhry Shujaat’s sister, had challenged the results of PP-32, payrolling the ECP and Salik as respondents in the case.
The petitioner had argued that the ECP erroneously issued a notification of Victoria, since according to form 45, the declared winner had occupied third place.
