Islamabad:
The Nomad art gallery gave life to Islamabad with a vibrant cultural event that perfectly merged art, crafts and cinema in an inspiring experience for visitors from all areas of life. The event attracted diplomats, artists, businessmen and public members in the celebration of the diverse cultural heritage of Pakistan.
The event was inaugurated by Austria ambassador to Pakistan, Andrea Wicke, along with the ambassadors of Ireland and Jordan. In their opening comments, the dignitaries underlined the vital role that art and culture play in the promotion of peace, tolerance and understanding between communities. Ambassador Andrea Wicke, in particular, highlighted the power of cultural expression to give the divisions bridge and foster dialogue.
The highlight of the event was Bazaar Crafts, which offered a carefully selected selection of handmade handicrafts of all Pakistan. The bazaar presented a colorful and captivating showcase of textiles, jewels, accessories and household decoration, all prepared by talented artisans that represent a wide range of cultural traditions.
The visitors had the rare opportunity to interact with the artisans, understand the stories behind their work and buy items directly, that support local talent and community entrepreneurship.
The exhibitions included a wide range of products of Nomad Art Gallery articles distributed throughout the country. These included vibrant Ajrak impressions of Sindh, shades and finely tissue assho -tango, textiles stamped in ecological blocks, Granmani handmade toys and exquisite silver jewels of Amna Shariff and the SS collection.
The event highlighted the immense potential of the traditional craft sector of Pakistan, particularly when supported by platforms that value cultural integrity and sustainability.
