Craig David has opened up about his incredible career path, which took him from living on a council estate to achieving multiple chart hits.
Craig lived on Holyrood Estate before rising to fame in his early 20s.
Today, the chart-topping singer has an estimated net worth of £14.5 million.
talking to daily mailCraig, 45, shared: “No one could have told me when I was a little boy growing up in my council flat with my mum, that 25 years later I had a career spanning this amount of time and that the songs would mean so much to people.”
Reflecting on his latest stadium tour, Craig reflected: “There were 15 or 16 year old kids and then there were people who grew up with my music; I was thinking this is crazy, this is two generations having a moment.”
The star also insisted that she doesn’t regret any of the decisions she made, reflecting, “Because it all leads to where you are now.”
Craig continued: ‘Every choice, every mistake, every right, every left, every mistake and every fall led me to be here and you learn from it.
‘Difficult times give you resolve, they give you courage and they give you strength.
“Otherwise you just slide by and never really get to know the ebb and flow.”
For the unversed, Craig is one of Britain’s biggest artists, having scored 16 top 10 singles in the UK alone.
He rose to fame with his debut album. Born to do in 2000, which spanned hits including fill me7 days and rewind.
Interestingly, Craig wrote his debut album in the bedroom of his childhood home.
