London: Pakistan’s batter, Ali, received an extension of the two-week bail by the Gran Manchester police after a British-Pakistani woman denounced him for the alleged rape in a local hotel.
Haider Ali appeared before the police on August 20, 2025, but the police told him to appear after two weeks. Meanwhile, the investigation will continue in the accusations.
Greater Manchester police had confirmed PakGazette News that Ali was arrested for accusations of rape. Police confirmed that he received a violation report on Monday, August 4 and arrested ALI, 24, immediately after that.
Police said: “It is alleged that the incident occurred on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in a place in Manchester. Since then, the man has been rescued pending new investigations. The victim is being supported by the officers.”
In his police interview, Ali had denied the accusation of rape.
According to his family members, he told the police that he knew the girl well and that they were friends. His meeting occurred at a local hotel in Manchester, the source told PakGazette News.
He was arrested in the Cricket Ground of Spitfire County, Kent, from the Cantina Office of the players. Kent police officers took him to the Canterbury Police Station.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that ALI has been provisionally suspended by the duration of criminal investigation.
“The PCB completely respects the legal procedures and processes of the United Kingdom and recognizes the importance of allowing the investigation to execute its due course,” said the PCB in a statement.
“Consequently, the PCB has decided to place Haider Ali under provisional suspension, with immediate validity, waiting for the result of the ongoing investigation.
“Once the legal procedures are concluded and all the facts have been properly established, the PCB reserves the right to take appropriate measures under its code of conduct, if necessary.”
Ali has represented Pakistan in 35 international Twenty20 since he debuted in 2020, as well as two international international ones.
