Despite the repeated statements of the police officers of a decrease in crime, the harsh reality in the soil paints a very different image.
According to the latest report published by the Link Committee of the Citizen Police (CPLC), the streets of Karachi remained dangerous and unpredictable during March 2025, since hundreds of people were killed and thousands of citizens were deprived of their vehicles, motorcycles and mobile phones in incidents of raw and robbery.
Only in the month of March, the Karachiitas suffered great financial losses, since 160 vehicles were taken away or stolen, 4,179 motorcycles were eliminated in similar crimes and 1,312 mobile phones were taken from citizens to the Punta de Armas.
The situation becomes even more alarming when the first three months of 2025 is observed. From January to March, the numbers were even more amazing, during which, a total of 537 vehicles were lost, 12,182 motorcycles disappeared from the roads and parking lots and 4,300 mobile phones snatched from the citizens.
Similarly, in the same month, a rescue kidnapping incident and 9 extortion incidents were reported. During this time, 42 citizens were also killed during the city’s objective murders.
According to the report, during the same period, 132 people were killed in murder and vandalism incidents in the city, five rescue kidnappings and a total of 24 extortion incidents.
These crimes have cost the public billions of rupees. The statements of the police officer of a crime reduction are valid, but the looting of citizens is still ongoing in the city.
