Bitcoin Miner Hive Digital Technologies (HIVE) has exceeded 10 exahash per second (EH/S) in Hashrate’s capacity, an increase of 58% from April, driven by the launch of a site with 100 megawatt hydroelectric energy in Paraguay. The company said in a press release on Friday that is on the way to reach 25 EH/s by the end of 2025.
The company extracted 139 Bitcoin in May, or an average rate of 4.5 BTC per day. The maximum capacity reached 10.4 eh/s, while the average hashrate for the month stood at 8.5 eh/s. Hive said that the efficiency of his fleet remained stable in around 20 joules by Terahash (J/TH), and that his participation in the network now exceeds 1% of Bitcoin’s global mining power.
The new installation in Paraguay reflects a broader trend in the mining industry: the race to display next -generation ASIC miners quickly already scale in regions with abundant renewable energy.
The co -founder Frank Holmes emphasized the speed and flexibility of the company, pointing out its HPC Buzz division, which admits the cloud infrastructure of AI together with the Bitcoin mining. The Aydin Kilic CEO said that the company’s objective for the summer is 18 EH/s, and that fleet updates should allow daily BTC production of more than 12 in the fourth quarter, potentially at a production cost below $ 50,000 per currency.
Hive operates facilities in Canada, Sweden and Paraguay, completely fed by hydroelectricity. The company was the first cryptographic mining that is quoted in the stock market at the TSX Venture Exchange in 2017.
Hive shares are higher by 13% in the New York trade on Friday, since the mining sector joins together with Bitcoin’s gain to more than $ 105,000.
