New York-President Donald Trump left a video in a cryptographic event on Thursday, amplifying his pro-Crypto feeling with the statement that Crypto will cause economic growth, although he did not offer any of the new policies that attendees expected that he could announce.
Crypto is “as great as you can be,” he said during a brief speech prior to recording at the Digital Association Summit in Manhattan. His comments were received by a multitude standing alone in the room, while praising Crypto, he continued a goodwill that has noted the financial and electoral support of the cryptographic industry.
“Pioneers like you can improve our banking and payment system and promote greater privacy, security, security and wealth for US consumers and companies equally,” he said. “You will unleash an explosion of economic growth.”
Trump said his administration has already stopped selling Bitcoin seized and has brought together industry leaders with his government officials.
“We are finishing the regulatory war of the last administration against Crypt and Bitcoin, and that includes stopping the strangulation point of the operation without law. Operation Choke Point went beyond regulation, and I mean much further. Frankly, it was a misfortune,” he said in what was his second appearance at a Crypto conference, after a live campaign stop in Bitcoin Nashville in 2024.
Trump has already signed two executive orders linked to digital assets since he assumed the position for his second term on January 20, after previously creating a working group for digital assets and establishing a bitcoin reserve using previously seized assets.
The speculation before Thursday’s speech focused on whether it would address debate or cryptography taxes, possibly with a new executive order. Ultimately, he did not announce any new action, but reiterated what his administration has already done.
“It is an honor to talk to you about how the United States will dominate Crypto and the next generation of financial technologies,” he said. “And it will not be easy, but we are far ahead.”
Trump has courted the cryptographic industry during the past year. Since he assumed the position, he has continued to show his support for the industry, both through his executive actions and through the efforts of his regulators to withdraw actions brought under the previous administration of Joe Biden.
