The CSS exam serves as a key entrance door to federal Pakistan elite services, including administration positions, foreign matters, customs and other civil sectors.

Traditionally it has attracted the new university graduates and young professionals, with strict criteria of eligibility in terms of age and number of attempts.

When raising the age limit and allowing an additional attempt, the new measures aim to expand access and provide greater flexibility for applicants who may need more time to prepare or enter the workforce later.
