The Punjab (CTD) Terrorism Department said Friday that they frustrated an important terrorist plot when arresting three terrorist terrorists in Faisalab linked to the Intelligence, Research and Analysis Agency (RAW) of India, said Express News.
According to a CTD spokesman, arrests were performed during an intelligence -based operation in Pathan Colony in Jhang Road. The terrorists planned coordinated attacks in Lahore, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Pakpattan during Eidul Azha.
The spokesman said that the terrorists were affiliated with the proscribed group Fitna al-Khawarij and had crossed the border illegally on multiple occasions to meet with raw agents in Srinagar and Rajasthan. An explosive stash, detonators and firearms recovered from his possession, said the CTD.

The initial investigations suggested that the terrorists were in contact with foreign managers through WhatsApp, through which they shared confidential location maps and received instructions, added the spokesman.
The CTD said the terrorists had finished plans to attack key sites during EID holidays. A case has been recorded in Faisalabad, and additional investigation is being carried out.
The spokesman said that arrests helped avoid what could have been large -scale destruction during the festive period, and added that the efforts were ongoing to track additional network members.
