MIRANSHAH:
An official of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) was martyred while two women and three children were injured in two separate incidents of firing and blasts in Mir Ali Tehsil of KP district in North Waziristan on Wednesday.
In the first incident, Shaminullah, a CTD official, was martyred when masked men opened fire on him at Mir Ali Bazaar while he was on his way to the market to buy food. According to a police report, Shaminullah, a resident of Datta Khel area, was on duty in Miranshah.
In the second incident, according to police sources, a fierce clash between terrorists and law enforcement officers took place at midnight last night in the villages of Harmaz and Hasokhel. As a result, five people (two women and three children) were seriously injured.
Sources said the terrorists attacked several check posts in the area with small and heavy weapons.
