Customs officials of the Allama Iqbal International Airport intercepted an attempt to smuggle 102 iPhones in Pakistan from Bangkok, with an estimated value of millions of rupees.
The operation, based on a notice, went to a passenger who reaches a foreign airline from Bangkok, said Express News.
The authorities, which act on a secret alert, found hidden phones between the passenger belongings.
The passenger, identified as Malik Shahid Hussain de Lahore, was arrested.
There has been a case against him, and the investigations are ongoing.
Customs officials, led by Collector Customs Tayyiba Kiani, confirmed the successful operation and reiterated that efforts to avoid smuggling in all airports in Punjab would continue.
