Cyclist Club promotes road safety

Karachi:

The traffic police, in collaboration with the Hog Bikers Club, organized a demonstration to promote road safety awareness among motorcyclists. The rally, directed by Dig Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah, aimed to emphasize responsible management practices and the importance of compliance with traffic rules.

The demonstration began from Nishan-E-Hider in Sea View and went through the main reference points of the city, including Teen Talwar, Do Talwar, Metropole, Share Faisal, Drigh Road, Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road and Ma Jinnah Road, before concluding in Mazar-E-Qaid, where the participants offered Fateha. Heavy bicycle pilots and traffic police staff participated in the demonstration.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Traic Dig Police talked about the growing concerns related to motorcycle security, noting that motorcycles represent more than 56% of the city’s traffic, and a significant part of the deaths due to accidents on the road involves motorcyclists.

“It is not always the guilt of the motorcyclist in an accident, but the caution measures can significantly reduce the risks,” he said. He urged cyclists to wear helmets, guarantee functional headlights, background lights, rearview mirrors, chain covers and anti-gana, and avoid speeding and unidirectional rapes to improve road safety.

The excavation also shed light on serious infrastructure deficiencies, revealing that only 57 traffic signals are currently operational in the city, while 2,000 to 2,500 are required to regulate traffic effectively.
