Dan Hurley from UConn admits exhaustion after searching three consecutive titles

Dan Hurley’s return to Stords, Connecticut, for the next season was much less safe than many could have believed.

In the new book, “Never Stop: Life, Leadership, and what is needed to be great”, which Hurley was co -author, the two -time winning coach of the National Championship revealed the stress he experienced during the search for the huskies of a third consecutive title almost led him to get away.

While Hurley is expected to return to the margin when the 2025-26 season of Uconn went out, he admitted in the book that “he was completely cooked” once he ended last season.

After taking the Huskies to the consecutive championships of the Male Division I of the NCAA, Hurley faced questions about what went wrong when Florida defeated Uconn in the second round in March.

According to Atlético, Hurley contemplated to leave the training due to exhaustion and take approximately one year to recharge physically and mentally. The 52 -year -old cited the feeling of being burned.

“I knew my mind, and knew my body, and I could feel that I was completely cooked,” Hurley wrote. “Just burned. I didn’t even know how I was standing. I looked at the office walls, muttering, making a brutal review of our season. I did not build a strong enough list. I was not a good leader. I let everyone in Maui.

“I lost control, emotionally, at several points. I entered here a few days sad and defeated, when I needed to be positive and inspiring. UCONN ended the 2024-25 season with a 24-11 record.

Hurley agreed a six -year contract with UCONN last year. The agreement was ended after Hurley rejected a six -year offer from the Los Angeles Lakers to become the next head of the franchise.

More recently, Hurley’s name was linked to the New York Knicks when the team sought the replacement of Tom Thibodeau. Hurley finally closed those rumors.

“No other summer of that,” Hurley told Hartford Courant in June.
