Dandadan Season 3 has officially entered production, which is excellent news for one of the best anime shows.
Dandadan follows two high school students, Momo and Okarun, who navigate friendship and just a casual dose of aliens, ghosts, and superpowers, all wrapped up in eye-catching animation and thrilling action scenes. And there’s a lot more where that came from as we delve deeper into season 3.
Here’s everything we know so far about Dandadan season 3 from expected release date, cast, trailer, plot rumors, news and more.

Dandadan Season 3 has officially entered production, thanks to confirmation from the show’s official Twitter/X account on September 18, 2025 (pictured above).
Released in Japanese, it roughly translates to: “Season 3 production confirmed. Momo, Okarun and Turbo Granny, let’s celebrate!”
Season 1 premiered in October 2024, Season 2 in July 2025, so for Season 3, I’d predict a release date of mid-to-late 2026. But, as soon as we know more, we’ll be sure to update here.
Dandadan Season 3: Trailer Released?
Unfortunately there is no trailer for Dandadan season 3 and that’s probably because the show only went into production in September 2025.
In the period prior to Dandadan season 2, several trailers were released on Crunchyroll and Netflix Anime’s YouTube channels. Despite its release in July 2025, trailers began in December 2024 and led to its eventual premiere.
So it seems more likely that some sort of Season 3 trailer will drop in early 2026, but we’ll post official trailers here as soon as they arrive.
Dandadan Season 3: Expected Cast
There has been no official news about the Dandadan Season 3 cast yet, aside from the season 3 production announcement referencing Momo, Okarun, and Turbo Granny, but I would predict the following characters will return:
- Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase
- Natsuki Hanae as Ken ‘Okarun; Takakura
- Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo Granny
- Nana Mizuki as Seiko Ayase
- Kaito Ishikawa as Jin Jiji Enjoji
- Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori
In addition to the Japanese voice actors, I imagine the English dubs will also reprise their roles having voiced the characters in every episode so far. These include Abby Trott as Momo, AJ Beckles as Okarun, Barbara Goodson as Turbo Granny, Kari Wahlgren as Seiko, Aleks Le as Jiji and Lisa Reimold as Aira.
Dandadan season 3: story synopsis and rumors
Full spoilers for Dandadan Seasons 1 and 2 will follow.
There is no official news about what Dandadan The plot of season 3 will involve, but I imagine it will foreground more of the yōkai and alien fights that we enjoyed in the previous two seasons.
If you haven’t seen it yet, the show follows high school students Momo and Okarun as they build an unusual friendship based on quite different points of view. Momo believes in yōkai, supernatural entities, which her grandmother Seiko has taught her about, but not in aliens. Okarun, on the other hand, believes in aliens, but not yōkai.
It quickly becomes apparent that they are right… and wrong, as the aliens and yōkai begin to intertwine in their lives. Momo is given latent psychic abilities by aliens and Okarun is possessed by a yōkai named Turbo Granny, a terrifying-looking old woman who is later forced to inhabit a maneki-neko doll.
In true manga style, it’s a tremendously dynamic and mind-blowingly quirky story that has Momo and Okarun mingling with other high school classmates to embark on strange and wonderful missions. And despite everything, both the yōkai and the aliens continue to invade their lives. Add in some romantic tension between Momo and Okarun and you have a well-rounded and heartfelt story.
Considering that it follows the famous Yukinobu Tatsu series, of which new chapters are still being published, there is a lot to do. And, if you’re a manga fan, you might have a good idea of where Dandadan Season 3 will be next.
Without revealing too much, Dandadan is divided into several story arcs, of which Turbo Granny, Acrobatic Silky, and Serpo were explored in season 1. In season 2, Cursed House, Evil Eye, and Kaiju followed.
For Dandadan So in season 3, I would predict that the Space Globalists, Onbusuman, and Danmara arcs would be covered next, which would introduce new characters, including a dangerous yōkai named Reiko Kashima, a mysterious new master, Sanjome, and a possessed young man named Unji Zuma. But if you’re not reading the manga, we’ll leave the entire plot a secret.
Will there be more seasons of Dandadan?
Given that Dandadan Season 3 was renewed along with the Season 2 finale, I imagine we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out if a Season 4 is on the cards.
Yeahand it’s a big deal if, since there has been no official confirmation, the plot of season 3 follows the story arcs as suggested above, there are still a few more arcs left that could form a season 4 and beyond.
However, for now there is no official news about future seasons of Dandadan. But, as one of the best anime shows on Netflix, it makes the most watched lists and generates millions of views (according to Collider), it seems quite likely that season 3 will not be the last of Momo and Okarun’s story. But we will have to wait and see.
