- Deezer is implementing four new features between now and end of May
- Include new customization options for algorithms and interface
- My month of Deezer and my universal exchange are also coming
Well, then, Spotify is still down? The Parisian rival Deezer chose a nice time to present a quartet of new features that arrive at its music transmission platform, right?
Deezer is clearly in a mission, not only to provide a wrapped and reproduction response in the form of my month of Deezer, which comes in May, but to allow its users to express themselves and connect with others through music, any of the best music transmission services that are making a track.
Always subscribe to Spotify because it is the one used by your friends? You are about to get another option.
Alexis Lanternier, Deezer CEO, said: “In Deezer, we are constantly innovating to offer the most personalized and customizable musical experience in the market. The new features we present today give users more control over their algorithm, greater flexibility to customize their experience and easy way to share content with their friends, even beyond Deezer. We want to remain surprising to fans with new and understanding ways to experience music.”
What about the four new features? Let’s get into that …
The new features of Deezer: We obtain granular
The four -pointed updates suite that Deezer brings is as follows:
More control over algorithm
Deezer tells me that 40% of music streamers are 34 years or so (well, don’t I feel old?) And the message is clear: they want better control over the algorithm. Deezer has already developed its flow function to allow users to influence their recommendations delivered to algorithms over the years (including the ‘Like’ buttons, but from April, Deezer is launching a algorithm customization function that states that users put users “totally in control” of their musical discovery. For the first time in the transmission of music, Deezer tells me that users can modify their recommendations algorithm No restriction.
During an online informative session, Lanternier showed what he jokes the new “personalized nightmare section of Deezer within each user’s personal account: all the bands he does not like and a timeline of what he rejected and when. Don’t you like it? They will no longer be sent clues from those artists, or tracks similar to the one he heard and hated. Apple Music offers vaguely similar ‘favorite’ (star) buttons and ‘suggest less’ (thumb down) for clues, but it’s nothing like this.
Improved interface customization
The Deezer application is becoming even more customizable. As of May, users can organize the favorite tab for rapid access to their favorite content, creating a truly personalized space. They will also have the option to customize their playlist covers by adding photos, shapes and stickers, remodeling the application so that it fits their personality. During the demonstration, we were shown how to create a cover: think of the emotion of emoji such as suns, sunglasses and perhaps a drink, a colorful background and a title like ‘Summer 2025 Ibiza’ maybe. (By the way, by the way …)
New statistics to discover and share your musical identity
On the basis of its annual recapitulation, my year of Deezer, Deezer, is launching my month of Deezer. And not the chopped words: this is based on the mixed successes of Spotify wrapped and Apple Music Replay (which was much better than wrapped at the end of last year). In early May, users will receive new statistics, including most of the songs heard, artists, genres, and a detailed breakdown of their activity, all presented in a “unique and attractive way” every month. Yes, we have heard of this before, but only expect …
Share your music beyond Deezer
At the end of April, Deezer is presenting a next level approach to share music, and one that transcends its transmission platform. With a universal exchange link, Deezer tells me that users can send their favorite clues to friends and family who are using other transmission services (Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music). The launch is based on Vibrating screenAnother unique Deezer feature that allows subscribers to create reproduction lists with their community, even with friends who are not in Deezer, but come on! It’s huge, right?
At a time when there is still no official Spotify Hifi sign, Apple Music, Tidal and Qobuz’s high resolutions have become increasingly tempting options. Deezer audio file resolution still exceeds CD quality, also known as 16 bits/44.1khz, (better than Spotify, not as good as the best offers of Tidal, Qobuz and Apple Music), but the music that I can send to a friend, surely in the knowledge that they can open and enjoy it, even if they are used to the spotify transmissions? That is huge, and a great reason to change.
