The possibility of Deion Sanders becoming the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys got the NFL world excited earlier this week when the team parted ways with Mike McCarthy.
Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Cowboys star Drew Pearson jumped on the Sanders bandwagon and voiced his support for Coach Prime returning to the pros to roam the sidelines of the team he won with. a Super Bowl in the 1990s.

“I think he’s capable,” Pearson told TMZ Sports. “There’s no doubt he has the qualifications to do it. He paid his dues. He rose through the ranks and has proven every step of the way that he knows what he’s doing.
“He has had success as a coach, from high school to college,” he added. “So why can’t he be a successful coach in the pros? I think he should be the number one pick for the Dallas Cowboys.”
DEION SANDERS HAS A ‘LEGITIMATE’ CHANCE TO COACH COWBOYS BUT UNDER SPECIFIC CONDITIONS, SUPER BOWL CHAMPION SAYS
It’s unclear how much interest there is in the Cowboys hiring Sanders to become the head coach. Sanders has been adamant about staying in Colorado unless he can coach his sons in the NFL.
He confirmed reports that he spoke with team owner Jerry Jones about the job, but didn’t exactly say he wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to coach the Cowboys.
“Listening to Jerry Jones is really charming and intriguing,” Sanders later told ESPN. “I love Jerry and I believe in Jerry. After hanging up and processing it and thinking about it, it’s intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community.”
