Delay in the transfer of title that hinders the recovery of the land of public relations

The Railroad Committee of the National Assembly has recommended a deadline for a month for the provincial main secretaries to transfer the titles of railway land invasted to the Pakistan railroads, warning that the breach of complying with their invocation before the committee.

The recommendation occurred during the tenth meeting of the committee held at the office of the Divisional Superintendent of the Railways of Pakistan, Karachi, chaired by Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan on Wednesday, according to a press release.

The members were informed that of 19,594 acres of railway lands in the Karachi division, 954 acres have been invaded by individuals. From this, around 340 acres have been recovered in the last three years.

The Division Superintendent stressed that one of the main obstacles to recovering invassed land is the delay in transferring land titles from provincial governments to Pakistan railroads.

As part of the meeting, the Committee also visited Karachi Port Trust, Keamari, to observe loading and download operations, which they appreciated for their efficiency. The members later inspected the Cantt. Railway station to review public facilities and general conditions.
