- Dell CEO presents the opinion of the future of AI
- AI will never replace human workers, but will help them, says Michael Dell
- Companies should also see AI as an excellent way to reinvent themselves.
Dell Technologies CEO has said Techradar Pro AI offers a great opportunity for organizations to be evaluated with a positive effect
Speaking in a media question and answers session in Dell Technologies World 2025, Michael Dell sought to ensure that AI will never completely replace human workers, and in fact he can offer them a completely new perspective.
In a wide discussion, Dell also presented his views on political instability that affect the technology industry, and some of its key leadership principles.
“Always some change”
“The way I think about this is that if you observe every progress, that is for any technology, it always has some changes that happen,” Dell said in response to our question about the AI that affects or even replaces human workers.
“My way of thinking is that there is probably an effect of 10 percent for that, but I think that 90 percent of that is actually growth, expansion and opportunity, and ultimately what I think you will see is more opportunities, a more economical growth.”
“There are many things that we do not do, what we used to do, because we have the tools, and we are more effective as a species because of that: (using AI) is just another example of that.”
“One of the keys beyond productivity and efficiency, I think for organizations, is to reimagine and say, well, what is the trajectory of these capabilities, where it goes and how our activity should be in three years, five years, given this capacity.”
“You know, many roles today did not exist 10, 20, 30 years ago, and nobody predicted that.”
Having spoken with the CEO of Nvidia, Jensen Huang, in his main opening, also asked Dell if the two shared some principle of general leadership.
“I think that every time there is a new technology, you have to jump forward (and think), what is the probable impact of this and how we need to change? And if we do not have a passion for that, or there is no crisis in your organization, make one!
Dell was also asked about how exchange global economic and political situations could affect the company’s future perspective
“We agree that those are problems and challenges,” he said, “in my general opinion, the importance of this technology is greater than all those problems, and I heard that someone to say recently, the chips are larger than the rates, and that would summarize our opinion about it.”
“Are all those useful things for our business? No, they are not, but there is a limit of what we can do about it, right? We can certainly do the things that we are supposed to do and focus on the things we can control, we are seeing many companies that are dealing with all those challenges as we are and moving forward in any case.”
