For security reasons, the convoy has been temporarily stopped. The deputy commissioner, however, remains unharmed.
In a statement, the KP governor condemned the attack and said that the shooting, which resulted in injuries to the deputy commissioner, reflected a failure in administrative security.
Attack related to police officer’s residence
In another incident, the residence of a police officer in Daudzai, Peshawar, was attacked with a hand grenade in the early hours of the same day.
The officer, identified as the driver of DSP Warsak, was unharmed in the attack, although the explosion caused property damage. No fatalities have been reported.
