The New Orleans Saints Campo Marshal Derek Carr, announced his retirement on Saturday.
The 2014 Second Round National Team had been dealing with a shoulder injury that questioned its 2025 season: it lost seven games last year with a brain shock and a fractured hand.
“After the reflection of prayer, and in discussion with Heather, I have decided to retire from the National Football League,” Carr said in a statement.

“For more than 11 years, we have been incredibly blessed, and we are always grateful and humble for this experience. It is difficult to find the right words to express our thanks to all teammates, coaches, administration, property, team officials and especially fans who made this special trip. His unwavering support has meant the world for us.”
The Saints announced that the injury that Carr suffered in March a tear Labral, and he “also had significant degenerative changes in his rotator sleeve.”
The Saints said that surgery would have endangered the season, and that there would have been a decent possibility that he would not find his old strength.

Carr hangs the tacos after launching for 41,245 yards, 257 touchdowns and 112 interceptions. He was appointed for the Pro Bowl four times, even every year from 2015 to 2017.

Carr spent his first nine seasons with the Raiders before joining the Saints before the 2024 season in a four -year agreement worth $ 150 million, with $ 100 million guaranteed. In 27 games with New Orleans, Carr completed 68.2% of his passes for 6,023 yards, 40 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
