The higher political leaders were informed about the national security situation at a high -level meeting held at the state television headquarters on Sunday in increasing tensions between Pakistan and India after the deadly attack of April 22 against tourists in illegally occupied Indians Jammu and Cashmira (Iiojk), according to media reports.
The General Director of Public Relations of Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, and the Minister of Information, Ataullah Tarar, directed the information, which included prominent figures such as Khurram Dastgir and Abid Sher Ali, advisor to the PM inside Pérdepez Khattak and Dr Farooq Sattar of MQM.
The leaders of the ministers of Jui-F, BAP and Key Sindh, including Nasir Hussain Shah, Sharjeel Memon and Saeed Ghani, also attended.
The Security Information Session occurs after India blamed Pakistan for Pahalgam’s attack that killed at least 26 people, despite not providing concrete evidence. In response, India took a series of unilateral steps, including the suspension of the Indo Water Treaty, revoke the Pakistani visas and close the Wagah-Attari border crossing.
Pakistan has strongly denied any participation in the incident and has asked for a credible and transparent investigation. In retaliation, Islamabad expelled the Indian diplomats, canceled visas for Indian nationals, excluding the Sijs pilgrims, and closed the border crossing on their side.
The situation has led to a strong deterioration in bilateral ties between the two neighbors with nuclear weapons.
