DG ISPR rules out rumors that the head of the Army becomes president

Pakistan’s army has strongly rejected speculation about the head of the Army Field Marshal (COAS) Syed also competing to become president of Pakistan.

Talking with The economistInter Services Public Relations (ISPR) DG General Lieutenant Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry wrote rumors as “completely unfounded.”

“The only COA approach is Pakistan’s strength and stability, nothing more,” reiterated the Interior Minister.

Earlier this year, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in May formally conferred the range of field marshal to the general of Coas Syed also Munir.
