Uzbekistan Airways has announced the beginning of direct flights between Tashkent and Islamabad, which will begin on May 24, according to Arab News. Initially, the airline will operate weekly flights every Saturday.

Discussions are currently being carried out with the Civil Aviation Authority to end the necessary logistics and regulatory agreements. Subject to demand and operational considerations, the frequency of flights is expected to increase over time.

In addition to the Tashkent-Islamabad route, Uzbekistan Airways is exploring plans to introduce direct flights to Karachi in the near future.

Currently, Uzbekistan Airways operates biweekly flights between Tashkent and Lahore on Wednesdays and Fridays, providing essential air connectivity between the two countries.

It is anticipated that the new aerial link drives people exchanges to people, trade and tourism between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. The initiative is the result of the joint efforts of the Uzbek Embassy in Islamabad and Uzbekist Airways JSC, with the aim of deepening cooperation and promoting stronger ties between the two nations.
