The president of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and the former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, accused a former political rival of weakening the foundations of the country, stating that his party is now working to restore economic stability.
When heading to a meeting of the members of the PML-N Punjab assembly in Lahore, Sharif described what he described as the achievements of his party by reversing the economic deterioration of the country.
Without appointing names, the former prime minister took an evening excavation in the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, blaming him for bad government and poor economic management.
“A dishonest leader who came to power through deception shook Pakistan’s foundations,” Sharif said. “But we made sacrifices for this country in the past, and we will continue to do so for its progress.”
He pointed out a series of recent economic improvements, including a drop in inflation, an increase in the stock market and a strengthening of Pakistani rupe. According to Sharif, these indicators reflect the positive impact of PML-N’s governance.
Sharif praised his younger brother, former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, for leading efforts to stabilize the economy, added that even the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has recognized the financial recovery of Pakistan.
“We have changed the course of the economic decline towards progress,” he said. “Interest rates have decreased from 22% to 12%, which increases commercial activity and economic growth. Pakistan is finally coming out of darkness.”
The meeting, which included Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz and senior party officials, also reviewed ongoing development projects and political strategy. The members of the Punjab Assembly expressed their confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, calling him a “symbol of Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.”
The legislators of the party also praised the Prime Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, for his government, particularly for reviving inactive government departments and accelerating public welfare initiatives.
“For the first time, even careless departments are now working actively,” said a party member. “Under Maryam Nawaz, Punjab is witnessing a government model that follows the development vision of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.”
The meeting discussed the future political road map, with leaders reaffirming their commitment to relieve people. PML-N members stated that the “Sushra Punjab” (Clean Punjab) initiative had established a new reference point in cleaning and municipal services throughout the province.
