- DJI proposed to reveal the osmo 6 action in October
- The flagship chamber could present a 1 inch sensor and an 8K video
- Advanced smart watches integration could also be included
The leaks about the next DJI flagship chamber of action suggest that it could put the squeeze of the rivals Insta360 and Gopro.
Promoted as the OSMO Action 6, it could be the first camera of its kind with a 1 inch sensor, which will admit an 8K video, plus what seems an advanced integration of smart watches.
If the exclusive leaks shared by the new camera are precise, a possible action 6 seems to be the Chamber of Action to win, with a sensor that eclipses those used in the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 and GoPro Hero Black 13.
We have seen a 1 -inch sensor in other DJI products, including the Osmo Pocket 3 Vlogging camera and the recent Drone Mini 5 Pro. However, it would be a new type of sensor for action cameras and could offer low -level low level quality.
Other features of the upper line for appetite are the 8K video and the slow 4K 120FPS camera and the recording of 1080p 240fps.
The video capture seems to be compatible with the advanced rocksteady 4.0 of DJI with improved AI to level 360 °, while there could be 64 GB of storage on board, plus a micro SD slot.
It is likely that DJI has to increase the physical dimensions of action 6 to house that bigger sensor, but it is not clear how much bigger it will be compared to the previous models, or if otherwise it will maintain the same action of Action 5 Pro Rugged, which includes the leading waterproofing in the industry.
In addition to these promising characteristics, action 6 could offer an unique smart watch integration.
Putting intelligent
The new camera allegedly received images of a tester showing the DJI Osmo Action 6 match with a smart (generic) clock.
The pairing with an smart watch is not exactly new: the OSMO Action 5 Pro can overlap the key data of its Garmin or Apple Watch in its videos, such as speed, heart rate and distance, which makes it an excellent option for athletes.
However, Action 6 Pro could offer next level integration, and could work with other models in addition to those of Garmin and Apple, depending on the Bluetooth functions available on the clock.
For example, an smart watch could act as a remote Action 6 control, which means that you can start or stop the camera recording and change to different ways without physically touching the camera, complete with data overlays.
We can also expect a broader range of data integrated in your videos in real time. For example, when used with a Garmin device, users can also obtain power data, cadence, rhythm and diving.
Although the OSMO Action 5 Pro was felt as an iterative update on action 4, action 6 could be a heavier update this time. And with a rumored October launch, I anticipate the leaks to increase to give us a clearer image of what to expect.
