- Apple has just launched the update of iOS 26 Beta 5
- Contains numerous adjustments to the iPhone operating system
- I could also have filtered the Apple Watch Ultra 3 screen resolution
Apple has just launched iOS 26 Beta 5, and this latest iPhone update comes with a lot of new practical characteristics. But among the adjustments and adjustments there is an unexpected leak, and sheds light on what we could see when the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is launched at the end of this year.
According to the researcher and analyst at iOS Aaron Perris (through Macrumors), the update of iOS 26 Beta 5 seems to contain references to the visualization resolution of the next Ultra 3 intelligent clock of Apple. That will sit at a resolution of 422×514 pixels, says Perris.
That is a slight increase over the 410×502 pixels that you will find in the Apple Watch Ultra 2. While it is not a great step forward, any increase in the resolution will be a welcome addition, particularly because Apple presents the ultra line of smart watches that are designed for robust athletes and explorers who need as much clarity as possible.
Macrumors points out that there have been no rumors that indicate that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 could obtain a screen larger than its predecessor, which suggests that Apple could choose to reduce the bezels of the screen and use the same chassis as before. That would follow the pattern that Apple has taken with its normal Apple Watch models, where screen bezels have been significantly reduced over the years.
Changes in abundance
A new Apple Watch resolution is not the only addition that is found in the iOS 26 Beta 5. You will also find that the select button has been restored in the upper left corner of the mail application.
And Apple has also added new icons and animations. That includes an airdrop icon of liquid glass style, in addition to much more inflatable animations when sliding and navigating your phone. There are also fresh splashes screens for applications such as Apple Music, Journal, Notes and more.
Unlike the previous iOS betas 26, this update does not adjust the appearance of the liquid glass redesign. Past adjustments have increased or reduced the vitreous effect on a variety of operating system elements, but the lack of changes this time suggests that Apple could have decided on something with which it is happy.
The full version of iOS 26 is expected to be launched in September, just when Apple presents the range of the iPhone 17. And with the Apple Watch Ultra 3 that is expected to be among the new products, we could soon find out if the filtered display resolution is in the money.
