- Google Chrome will soon end the support for Macos Big Sur
- That leaves only two browsers that work with this operating system
- If you are executing Macos Big Sur, it’s time to update
If you are running Mac Sur in your MAC, we have some bad news: soon, only two of the best web browsers will continue to admit this operating system. Once that happens, you will have to install sequoia macOS or change your choice browser.
The development occurs when Google has announced that Chrome version 138 will be the last to provide updates for Macos Big Sur. After that, Google Chrome will continue working in Macos Big Sur, but you will see a prominent warning message that will update. Nor will you receive updates, which will potentially make it vulnerable to serious security violations.
In the future, Macos Monterey will be the minimum requirement for Chrome updates. That will happen with Chrome version 139, which is expected to arrive on August 5, 2025.
That will leave Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge as the only popular browsers that still admit Big South. Nor is it known how much this support will last, so updating your Mac is a sensible idea to stay safe.
It’s time to update
Google Chrome is one of the best browsers, thanks to its speed and a wide range of extensions, so getting lost will be a blow to anyone who still runs Macos Big Sur.
As mentioned above, there are alternatives, but it is possible that I do not currently use them, which means that it is likely to change their markers and other navigation data.
The update of Macos Big Sur of Apple was launched in 2020, and the company’s own safari browser stopped supporting it in July 2023. That only shows that it is probably time to install a newer version of macOS in its MAC if you are still executing Macos Big Sur.
The oldest macOS versions can be vulnerable to computer pirates and other threats. Although Apple admits obsolete macos versions for many years, even by implementing security patches, it does not do it indefinitely.
If possible, you must update your MAC to the latest version of macOS to make sure that you not only have the latest safety protections but also the best functions of macOS.
