According to Openai, rumors of the disappearance of Chatgpt – 4o have been exaggerated. Despite some strong rumors that bounce around Reddit and other social media platforms, the Chatgpt developer has no plans to eliminate the popular GPT -4o model in October.
A Reddit publication now eliminated said that GPT-4O was in a regressive deprecation account for Chatbot AI. But the company confirmed to Techradar that there is no such plan in October or at any other time. If it happened, Openai promised that there will be a warning with a lot of warning. The company even adjusted its documentation to reflect that fact.
The brief frenzy around the rumor is not too surprising after what happened with the debut of GPT-5 earlier this month. Although Openai framed the update as the choice that any user would prefer, not everyone fell in love at the beginning. Some users described GPT-5 as colder or too formal compared to GPT-4O, and with only available GPT-5, many Chatgpt users were very upset.
Operai listened to the protest and reinstated GPT – 4th day later paying subscribers. Even so, with GPT-5 in the center of attention and the improvements that enter to give more the type of personality that many claim to be desired, it was not an absurd assumption to see the days of GPT-4O as numbered. Someday, GPT-4O and its successors will probably be eliminated. This is how IA development works. But clearly, the method of that phase is much important for some people. And letting 4th stay a little more gives people spaces to decide when or even if they want to update.
