- Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, promises an air battery life for iPhone iPhone
- The phone is the thinner iPhone ever released
- Officially, the battery life for the phone rises to 27 hours
Earlier this week, Apple presented the iphone air, along with three other new iPhones: it is the thinnest iPhone to date, measuring only 5.64 mm, and Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, has approached concerns about what this thinness could mean for the battery life.
“The battery life is excellent,” Cook told Jim Cramer from CNBC in a new interview. “You will love the battery life.” The phone has been designed “from the inside out” to obtain as long as possible between the positions, according to the Apple chief.
Then, Cook even more explained how the phone has been designed to maximize the battery capacity, mentioning how the phone was only ESIM, with the space saved by the elimination of the physical sim slot that is used to make the battery even larger.
“It’s as if you were holding the future in your hand,” Cook was excited in an earlier point in the news segment, perhaps an indication that we will see more air models in the future, perhaps along with a curved and glass iPhone.

Apple has certainly adopted a new approach to the iPhone design with iPhone air, and most key components have been placed at the top of the housing. That leaves all the rest of the internal space available for a battery.
According to Apple’s official figures, you can get up to 27 hours of video playback between the battery charges in the iPhone air. That compares with 30 hours for the standard iPhone 17, 33 hours for the iPhone Pro and 39 hours for the iPhone Pro Max.
It is also remarkable that Apple has also chosen to launch a battery charger compatible with MAGSAFE specifically for iPhone air, suggesting that it will not necessarily get much use of the smartphone from a single battery charge.
We have not yet been able to test the duration of the iPhone air battery, although we have had a practical time with the new phone. As the device arrives at users from next Friday, we will know more about their battery life potential.
