Samsung is quite proud of some of the anti -theft features that have recently been implemented with an UI 7 (based on Android 15), so much that the company has issued a press release advising users to activate these new features.
“Samsung is asking Galaxy users to activate the latest anti -theft functions that are now available on their devices,” says the board (through Android Authority). “These updates reflect Samsung’s commitment to deliver more intelligent and stronger protection: help users to safeguard their data and maintain control, even in high -risk situations.”
There are five features mentioned, although not all are new. First is the robbery detection block, which uses the sensors on your phone to detect when it could have been snatched and automatically blocks the screen.
There is also blocking of off -line devices, which blocks the phone after it has been offline for a prolonged period and a remote block, the users’ capacity to block a phone remotely from a different device if it has been lost or stolen.
Where to find these characteristics
Samsung One UI 7 also offers an identity verification, which means that biometric authentication is needed to change safety configuration and safety delay: a waiting period of an hour that is applied if biometric data is restored on a phone.
If you have removed the phone, that waiting period should give you time to block it remotely and take the other necessary steps, before the person who tries to restore it can get full access.
All these characteristics can be found and enable through the configuration panel in a user interface 7: touch Security and privacy> Protection of lost devicesAnd you will find options to record your device with the FIND My Mobile service (to block it remotely) and to administer the other security features marked by Samsung.
It is also worth mentioning that these are not exclusive to Samsung: you can find these characteristics, such as the robber detection block, in other phones that run the Android 15 Google software (including the best pixel phones).
