Do you love Pro-Ject decks? Now the company wants to level up your head-fi game, with a Head Box

  • Two models: 820 mW and 1.5 mW at 30 ohms
  • Head Box DS3 B is made for the most demanding headphones
  • £329 (around $442 / AU$660) / or £629 (around $845 / AU$1,265)

Pro-Ject has introduced two new headphone amplifiers, the Head Box DS3 B and the Head Box S3 B. These are the first models of a new generation of amplifiers and are fully balanced.

By fully balanced, Pro-Ject means that you don’t just get balanced connectors for your headphones. The entire audio path is balanced and that should reduce noise and improve stereo separation between the left and right channels. The result, says Pro-Ject, is cleaner, more detailed and more spacious audio.

Of course, the amplifiers also work with unbalanced headphones and there are line level inputs with RCA and XLR for easy connection to other devices.
