- The best -qualified Sage Barista Barist
- It promises rich and complete cold espresso for chicken and icy Lattes
- We are testing the new machine soon to see how it compares with its rivals.
The Sage Barista Touch Impress (known as Breville Barista Touch Impress in the United States and Australia) has maintained a place in our guide to the best express coffee machines, and now it is even more versatile thanks to a new espresso coffee mode that should be ideal to make ice cream and cocktails based on coffee this summer (instead of a hot thickness diluted by ice).
The Sage Barista Touch impresses with cold extraction has all the other characteristics that we appreciate in the original machine, which makes the extraction consistently good espresso as simple as possible.
These include the Puck Puck system, which helps you dose and modify your coffee correctly (essential to avoid excessive or lower extraction), plus the MILQ Auto system, which helps you create creamy foam without having to dominate the art of using a steam manual wand.
Cold beans
Cold Brew coffee machines are becoming increasingly popular, promising to deliver coffee with an authentic cold taste extracted in just a couple of minutes (instead of spending the night, as with the elaboration of traditional cold beer). For example, the swearing Z10 uses high pressure water pulses to extract freshly ground coffee, and in my tests I found the surprisingly tasty and well rounded results.
The excellent Ninja Luxe Café (currently sitting in the number one place in our summary of the best coffee growers) also has a cold beer mode, as well as De’lonchi’s specialist the compact’s specialist, although its cold espresso is not as complete as that of the machine swears clearer.
I will try the Sage Barista Touch Impress with cold extraction very soon, and I will bring you a complete review as soon as you have finished testing it to see how you compare with your rivals. It is available today from Sage for £ 1,699.95.
