- The rumors suggest that the Super GPU models of the NVIDIA RTX 5000 series are on the way to launch later in 2025
- It is speculated that the RTX 5080 Super has 24 GB of VRM, which coincides with the RTX 4090’s
- It seems to be the ideal opportunity for Nvidia to improve her Blackwell launch setbacks
It has been a long time since Nvidia launched its RTX 5000 series GPU at the end of January, followed by other configurations in recent months, after a key note from CES 2025 that showed the Blackwell GPU. However, it seems that Nvidia might not get new GPU launches in 2025.
According to Tweaktown, Nvidia will launch the Super Models of the RTX 5000 series later this vacation season, which generally means November or December. The RTX 5080, RTX 5070 TI and RTX 5070 are the GPUs that are reported that they receive super updates, with the new 5080 and 5070 TI, according to the reports, they will use 24 GB of VRM.
The price is not over, and there is no figure that works at this time. But considering that the previous movement of Team Green was to reduce the RTX 4080 Super Price (as a slightly more powerful GPU) compared to the standard model, we could see a similar pattern again.
There is no sugar in the controversy level that surrounds Blackwell GPUs, with missing specifications (Rops), lack of availability and, most importantly, inflated prices in multiple online retailers. With the super models of the RTX 5000 series, NVIDIA and, in particular, their members of the Board, have the opportunity to correct those errors.
A combination of improved performance in all areas and points of adjusted price can do wonders, and that is mainly applied to the RTX 5080 potentially closing the gap in the RTX 4090 (supposedly using 24 GB of VRM). It may be even more interesting to see an RTX 5060 super using more vram, but we will have to wait and see.
Analysis: If the prices for these super gpu are out of control, then forget that I even mentioned this …
Above all, if these rumors of Super GPU models are legitimate, prices will determine their success again. While I am aware that Nvidia can have good intentions with more reasonable prices, all that work could be undone by the partners and retailers of the Board that mark the prices significantly.
It is the same problem that failed in the launch of the AMD RX 9000 Rx 9000 series for many; The Radeon RX 9070 XT was seen as the economic and powerful alternative to the middle -to -level GPUs of Blackwell, at $ 599 / £ 569 (around AU $ 944), but the market told a different story with prices that rise well above that.
Fortunately, prices have recently fallen to original retail prices, which I am seeing with more stocks and availability for GPUs of the Green and Team Red team than ever.
I hope that prices can stabilize and remain within reasonable ranges prior to the eventual launch of the new NVIDIA Super GPU models, since it could reduce the possibilities of ridiculous prices. Let’s see this space …
