- TO Peaky Blinders The sequelae series is in process in Netflix and BBC
- Two seasons composed of six episodes each have been green, with executive cillian Murphy producing
- The show follows a new generation of Shelbys in 1953 during the reconstruction of Birmingham after World War II.
Netflix is not only giving us the Peaky Blinders movie The immortal manBut the streamer has announced (in association with BBC) a series of sequelae, which has already been green for two seasons.
As the BBC synopsis explains: “Great Britain, 1953. After being bombarded in World War II, Birmingham is building a better future with concrete and steel. In a new era of Steven Knight’s Peaky BlindersThe career to possess the Birmingham massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal mythical dimensions.
“This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger: with the Shelby family just in their heart soaked with blood.”
Paraphrasing youth, I’m so sitting that my mother asks me to get up from the couch. But we should not be too surprised; Knight already confirmed that the “world would continue” after the film, and another show worthy of binge in the franchise makes more sense.
In any case, it is the change of paper by Cillian Murphy the most surprising. After having been the protagonist of the original series and ready to repeat his role in the movie, he will not really be on the screen on the sequel, and this could do or break his success.
Opinion: Can Peaky Blinders sequel be successful without Cillian Murphy? I’m not so sure
Originally, Murphy played Tommy Shelby, patriarch of the Shelby family and the leader of the Peaky Blinders gang (hence the title comes from the title). Shelby served in World War II, faced the New York mafia and became a Labor Deputy after the series. But in the Seasons sequel, Murphy is not repeating his role: he is ready to be the executive producer.
Would we really expect to see it almost 10 years after the end of World War II? Frankly, I think it would be a miracle if I was still alive. We still have to find out when The immortal man It is ready, but I suppose the new movie would be much closer at the time of the main series.
Logically, it makes much sense that Murphy does not lead, but it is so synonymous with the program that I am not sure if one works without the other. It is one of the main characters for which we tune in, and it is not as if we had much of the past to cling (RIP, Helen McCrory).
However, there are two positive aspects in which we should maintain: Murphy as a producer means that the two new seasons should have a good sense of continuity, since their participation joins both of them is naturally shown, even if it is no longer on the screen.
We also have the potential success of the film. Yeah The immortal man It is a success, there is potential for its new characters to be collected in the sequelae seasons (depending on when it is established). We know that Barry Keoghan will be one of these, and it is not exactly a bad look to involve it with any project (except any of Sabrina Carpenter).
I am completely grabbing the straws here, seeing everything we know about Peaky Blinders’ sequel is limited. But for his companions Murphy-Heads, there is hope, and hey, if everything goes wrong, at least we have its appearance 28 years later: The temple of the bones.
