Dolly Parton’s late husband, Carl Dean, was “sick for quite some time” before he died in March.
He Jolene 79 -year -old singer spoke with Independent about how it remained after the loss in a recent interview.
“I really feel his presence. I just try to continue, because I know I have to do it,” said Parton, 79, to the publication.
“And he was sick for quite some time, and a part of me was at peace that was at peace and he no longer suffered. But that still does not compensate for loss and loneliness.”
Grammy’s winner also got honest about her religious beliefs that helped her stay strong.
“I am a person of faith, and I really think I will see him again one day.”
“And I see it every day in my memories and in my heart, and in all the things we used to do and all the things we have built together,” Parton continued. “You simply have to learn to make new plans, but that’s the most difficult part.”
Parton added that it is investing its energy in “other things” to “always keep it present in everything I do.”
Parton and Dean met in 1964 in Nashville, where he moved to follow a career in music.
