Matos was not recruited last year and spent the season in the practice team. He was a university basketball player from 2019 to 2022 at the University of New Mexico and the University of Southern Florida.
Then he continued for the Bulls football team for the 2022 season, starting as a defensive liner before going to the ball offensive.

Matos is part of the NFL International Players Route Program, which hopes to increase the number of players from outside the United States or Canada.
