The only thing that remains constant in the cryptocurrency market, regardless of whether it is booming or not, are hacks. On Thursday, hackers took over the domain of Bonk.fun, the Solana token launch platform backed by Raydium and BONK, and placed a wallet drain there.
Operator Tom announced the hack to the community through his X account @SolportTom. “Do not use the domain until further notice, hackers have hijacked a computer account forcing a drain of the DOMAIN,” he said. Bonk’s official X handle confirmed the same.
The breach underscores persistent vulnerabilities in cryptographic interfaces, even as institutional participation increases and ecosystems become larger.
Tom added that previous connections to bonk.fun remain secure, as do transactions executed through third-party terminals. Only those who signed a fake terms of service message on the compromised site after the breach were affected, and quick alerts from the community appear to have limited the damage.
“We are doing everything in our power to solve the situation,” said the operator, giving priority to users who have trusted the platform during the last eight months. The operator did not reveal the exact dollar amount of the losses, but emphasized that the incident was resolved quickly.
