Don Nelson, the former coach of the Dallas Mavericks, accepted the Chuck Daily Lifetime Achievement Award before game 2 of the NBA finals on Sunday.
Nelson, who has been living in Hawaii since he was far from the game, took a message with him for the franchise that used to lead on the court.
During his press conference, Nelson made sure that everyone in the building knew that he wore Nike’s new Luka Doncic shoes.

Because? He thinks that the Mavericks and the Gm Nico Harrison made a “tremendous mistake” that exchanged the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I want everyone to know that I am wearing Luka’s shoes, his new Nike shoes … and I take them in protest for Dallas’s trade,” Nelson told the crowd. “I think it was a tremendous mistake of the Dallas franchise to exchange it. I want everyone to know that.”
Nelson is part of a massive group that believes that Harrison made the wrong movement in Doncic’s trade to Los Angeles, who was one of the most shocking exchanges in recent memory anywhere in professional sports.

The Mavericks fans also know Harrison, since the songs filled stadiums at home and away, while a group of fans even celebrated a false funeral outside American Airlines Center days after the agreement was reduced in February.
However, Dallas may have been rescued after the NBA draft lottery saw them win the general selection number 1. The Mavericks will presumably take Duke’s Cooper Flagg at the end of this month.

Even so, Mavericks fans were not happy to see Doncic, who helped take the team to the NBA finals last year, moving to the west.
While the Lakers did not make a deep race in the NBA playoffs, Doncic had similar numbers with the Lakers compared to the Mavericks. He averaged 28.2 points per game (28.1 in Dallas) with 8.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game in 28 competitions.
Nelson and many others have their opinions, but what is done is now done for Mavericks. Time will say who won exactly the exchange.

Nelson is a coach of the member of the Hall of Fame, and one of the best in the history of the League with the legend of the San Antonio, the legend of Gregg Popovich, is the only one with the most training victories of all time. He had 1,335 victories in regular season and 75 more in the playoffs during his time training the Milwaukee Bucks (1976-87), Golden State Warriors (1988-94), New York Knicks (1995-96), Mavericks (1997-2005) and Warriors once more than 2006-10.
